Create Your First Card Tier

🏷️ Tenant Admin Only

Learn how to set up VIP card categories and levels.

What is it?

Card tiers are the different levels of VIP membership you offer. Each tier can have different discounts, like 10% off for Silver or 20% off for Gold.

Why you'd use it

Card tiers let you reward your most loyal customers with better discounts, encouraging repeat visits and higher spending.

How to create a card tier

  1. Click Card Tiers in the sidebar
  2. Click the Add Tier button in the top-right
  3. Fill in the tier details:
    • Category Name: The type of card (e.g., "VIP")
    • Category Slug: URL-friendly name (e.g., "vip") 💡 Tip: Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only
    • Level Name: The tier within this category (e.g., "Gold")
    • Level Slug: URL-friendly name (e.g., "gold")
  4. Click Save

Success! Your new tier is now available for enrollment.

Example tier structure

Common setup:

  • Category: VIP
    • Levels: Silver, Gold, Platinum
  • Category: Service Industry
    • Levels: Bronze, Silver

Each level can have different discounts (you'll set those up in the next step).

Understanding categories vs levels

  • Category: Broad type of membership (e.g., "VIP", "Service Industry", "Student")
  • Level: Tier within a category (e.g., "Silver", "Gold", "Platinum")

Think of it like airline programs: "Frequent Flyer" is the category, "Silver/Gold/Platinum" are the levels.

Common questions

Q: Can I change a tier after customers have it?

A: Yes, but changes apply to all existing cardholders immediately. Be careful!

Q: How many tiers should I create?

A: Start with 2-3 tiers (e.g., Silver, Gold, Platinum). You can add more later.

Q: What's the difference between a category and a level?

A: Category groups related tiers together. Level is the specific tier a customer holds. Most clubs use one category ("VIP") with multiple levels.
