Configure Your First Discount Rule

Learn how to set up discounts for your VIP card tiers.

What is it?​

Discount rules (also called "perks") define what benefits each card tier gets. For example, Gold members might get 20% off drinks and $5 off cover charge.

Why you'd use it​

Discounts incentivize customers to sign up for VIP cards and visit more often. Different tiers get different discounts to reward loyalty.

How to create a discount rule​

  1. Click Perks in the sidebar
  2. Click the Add Perk Rule button in the top-right
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Card Tier: Select the tier this rule applies to (e.g., "VIP - Gold")
    • Locations: Select which venues this applies to (or "All Locations")
    • Cover Charge Discount %: Percentage off entry fee (e.g., 50 = half off) 💡 Tip: Enter 100 for free entry
    • Drink Discount %: Percentage off drinks (e.g., 20 = 20% off) 💡 Note: Applies to liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks only — excludes bottle service
  4. Click Save

✅ Success! This tier now has discounts at the selected locations.

Example discount structures​

Starter setup:

  • Silver: 10% off drinks, no cover discount
  • Gold: 20% off drinks, 50% off cover
  • Platinum: 30% off drinks, free cover

Service Industry setup:

  • Bronze: 15% off drinks, free cover
  • Silver: 25% off drinks, free cover

Understanding location scoping​

You can apply discounts to:

  • All locations: Discount works at every venue
  • Specific locations: Discount only works at selected venues

Example: Your Gold tier might get 20% off at your downtown club but only 10% off at your suburban venue.

What drinks are included?​

Included:

  • 🍺 Beer
  • 🍷 Wine
  • 🥃 Liquor/spirits
  • 🥤 Non-alcoholic drinks

Not included:

  • 🍾 Bottle service (always excluded)

Common questions​

Q: Can I give free entry to VIP members?

A: Yes! Set the cover charge discount to 100%.

Q: Can I change discounts after creating the rule?

A: Yes, and changes apply immediately to all cardholders of that tier.

Q: Can a tier have different discounts at different locations?

A: Yes! Create multiple perk rules for the same tier, each with different location selections and discount amounts.

Q: What if I don't charge cover? Should I still set a cover discount?

A: If you never charge cover, you can leave it at 0%. It won't affect anything.
